IBM Websphere MQ is formally called as MQseries. This WMQ is the standard for messaging across different platforms, which includes Windows, Linux, IBM Mainframe and Midrange and Unix flavors. IBM WMQ is a middleware product that implements a messaging and queuing framework. Middleware is an intermediate software component which acts as a bridge b/w dissimilar computing environments. IBM WebSphere MQ is a complete universal messaging backbone, enabling rapid, reliable, and secure transport of messages and also data between applications, systems, and services. This is used for accelerating the flow of messages across organizations without complexity, cutting costs and reducing maintenance, improving business responsiveness and connecting to new solutions and technologies from the mainframe to the mobile enterprise.
